Good Morning!

What a wonderful performance at Disneyland. It was a joy to watch the students light up on stage! Now that we are back and hopefully, settled into our daily routines, I wanted to give you an updated schedule for choir. This schedule has all the dates you will need for the rest of the school year. A few extra dates have been added, please look at it carefully =)

Honor Choir Schedule for the rest of the year:

  •  Wednesday, March 16 @ 2:35-3:35 p.m.:
    • Rehearsal: Additional practice CD given with Wind On a Hill
  • Tuesday, March 22 @ 11:00-12:30 p.m.:
    • Concert Rehearsal and Performance for high school class
  • Tuesday, March 22 :
    • Spring Concert
    • 6:30 Call Time in Room 49
    • 7:00 Performance  (Singing SRO)
    • Dress Uniforms are to worn
  • Wednesday March 23 @ 2:30-3:30 p.m.:
    • Rehearsal for CMEA: Hughson High Theater to put on risers.
  • Wednesday, April 6
    • Rehearsal for CMEA: This rehearsal will be at Covenant Village (2125 N Olive Ave, Turlock, CA). 
    • 12:45 p.m. We will meet in Berg Hall to rehearse.
    •  2:30p.m., we will walk to the care center and perform SRO and our CMEA songs for the residents.
    • Dress Uniforms are to worn
  • Friday, April 8 @ 3-4:45 p.m.:
    • CMEA
    • Singing: Wind On the Hill, Paruparong Bukid, All Things Bright and Beautiful
    • Dress Uniforms are to worn
  • Saturday, April 23 from 2:30-3:30 p.m.:
    • Covenant Village Volunteer Banquet: Honor Choir will be the guest performers and perform SRO for those that volunteer at the rest home. Roy Mendiola was the featured soloist last year and had a good experience.
    • Dress Uniforms are to worn
  • Monday, May 9 @ 12:35-2:00:
    • Auditions: Students will receive performance packets and will rehearse for Hickman Graduation
    • Parent meeting
  • Monday, May 16 @ 12:35-2:30:
    • Auditions: Students will try out for parts
  • Wednesday, May 25 @ 5:30:
    • Hickman Graduation
    • Dress Uniforms are to worn

Disneyland Itinerary

Hello Everyone,

Here it is! The Disneyland Itinerary is ready!!! It has all the information that you will need for the choir workshop and performance at Disneyland. There is a lot of information that is covered, so please read it slowly and carefully. If you have any questions please ask.

Sadly, there is still one key item missing, the tickets. We have not received them yet. As soon as we get them, we will let you know.

We will be sending a copy of the itinerary home with the students on Wednesday.

Please make a note that we will be collecting all uniforms at choir practice on Wednesday. More information can be found in the above document.

Rehearsal Schedule for Disneyland

Hello Parents,

Its very exciting, our Disneyland trip is just around the corner. The kids have been working hard getting ready to perform. Since we have only have 3 rehearsals left before the trip, Mr. Thompson would like to extend the rehearsals times. This will give the students time to finish learning the performance and perfect it for Disneyland. Please look below for the rehearsal schedule. This should be all the practices, but please be aware that it may change as we get closer.

Disneyland Rehearsals:

Wednesday, February 17 @ 2:35-4:35
Wednesday, February 24 @ 2:35-4:35
Friday, February 26 @ 12:35-3:35

Since we know many of you will be leaving for Disneyland early in the week, there will be NO PRACTICE Wednesday, March 2. Please remember, if you choose to enjoy Disneyland before the performance please make sure your student is rested for Friday’s activities.

We will be sending out another email soon with all the information you will need for Disneyland.

Friday, February 5 Rehearsal and SRO Cast List

Hi Everyone,

Today we have a rehearsal from 12:35 – 3:00 p.m. at the high school choir room 49 (we will be cramped, because the theater is being decorated for the Winter Formal).  It will be a cramped rehearsal, but a fun one.  Bring a great attitude and your rhythm packet.  Those in the Lit Conference are excused.  We will catch you up on your return.

Please bring your rhythm packet on Friday, February 5 (today) to pass off as many levels as you can in between rehearsal.

Here is the schedule:

12:35-12:55 p.m.      Good Morning Dancers
12:55- 1:15 p.m.    It Don’t Mean a Thing Dancers and soloist
1:15 – 2:00 p.m.    Songs of the Silver Screen Section (everyone)
2:00 – 2:45 p.m.    Big Band Radio Hour
2:45-3:00 p.m.        Review all
The link to the cast list is attached below (can be found on the website).  There are some changes in some previously assigned parts, to give everyone an opportunity to be featured in some way.
Did I say, “Bring your rhythm packet?”  I did?  OK.  Then, please bring your rhythm packet.  🙂

Hughson High School Music Man

Good Morning,

This coming week Hughson High School will be preforming Music Man. Mr. Thompson let me know that if any of the honor choir families would like to come watch a performance, they can come to the the morning performance on Tuesday, February 2 @ 9:00am.
