Costuming Reminders:

  • Please label costumes. This is as simple as a piece of tape inside with your name on it. There are 50+ kids participating in the show and many have the same costumes. If one goes missing or gets left behind we can find the owner if it is labelled.
  • Store costumes, change of clothes and anything they may need in a bag with their name on it. If you have one, we have found recycle type bags the nicest to use for this. They are sturdy and hold up.
  • Please wear sandals, slip on shoes or choir dress shoes. Please make sure they follow the time period, they did not wear neon colors =)  Please make sure they have a heel strap to keep your shoes from flying off your feet and hurting you or someone else. NO FLIP FLOPS!
  • Wear modesty clothes for changing in and out of costumes. Again there will be a lot of kids changing in and out of costumes.. No one wants to see immodest bodies. Please keep these clothes as modest as possible.
  • Girls hair can be left down or pulled back in a nice hair style. Please make sure it is out of your face.
    Mic Tips:
  • Have your sock pinned and ready before you get to choir. It should be centered in the small of your back.
  • No Mics should go into a pocket. Socks only, pinned to your back!
  • Make sure your undershirt will hold up to a mic hanging from it. If you are concerned about it moving around, wear a leotard or snug fitting shirt and pin your sock at the top and bottom.
  • Be prepared for someone to help you change batteries during the middle of a show.
  • DO NOT pull on the cords or play with buttons. Hold it by the box not the antennae or cord.
  • Only adults and experienced 8th graders should be working with the mics. If you need help, ask for it. Please don’t try to fix the problem yourself.

Cast Party:

  • We will be having a cast party luncheon for the students on Friday, right after the student performances.
  • If you are interested in helping out, please contact Ali Miller 495-2777.
  • If your child is gluten free or has any other food allergy please let Ali know asap.
  • We want this to be a family friendly event so any parents and siblings who are there will be able to participate. We do ask that you wait until all cast members are served first before eating.
  • Please let Ali know how many people will be eating (besides the cast) asap so she can plan accordingly. To help off set cost we are asking for donations of $3 per person eating, not including students in the show. Thank you!

Tickets:

  • We still have lots of tickets for all of the performances.
  • Contact Kara Boggs 988-5200, if you have any questions

Video and Photography:

  • The Mendiola Family have volunteered to make a DVD of the show.
  • We will also be having Juventa Vezzani and Brian Osterhout taking pictures.
  • Since we will be having a DVD made and pictures taken, we are asking that families enjoy the show and not take pictures and video during the show. It is very distracting to the students if all they see are electronics pointed at them. They are learning how to read an audience so they can better interact with them. Please let us be the audience they can see.    We hope you are all excited for the show as much as we are. It is going to be great!

Thanks!

Aladdin Information

Hello Everyone,

Can you believe it? Crunch week is next week! To keep everyone up to date and involved we wanted to send out some more information. Below you will find this week’s schedule and reminders of what is to come =)

Schedule for the Week of 1/9/17- 1/13/17

  • Wednesday, January 1/11/17
    • 2:35-3:35: Regular Honor Choir Class
  • Thursday, January 1/12/17
    • 2:30-4:00: Quilting for Aladdin, Jasmine, Genie, Sultan, Jafar, Razoul, Iago, Narrators 1-5, Guards 1-3, and Carpet puppeteers
  • Friday, January 1/13/17
    • 12:35-3:15: R4 EVERYONE,
    • Please wear your townspeople costume. We would like to make sure that everything flows and there are enough pops of color to make it look interesting on stage. Thanks!

Costumes

  • We are working on everyone’s costumes and plan to have everything handed out soon.
  • Some students do not have any costume changes but we are still asking that everyone labels their costumes. We are asking this because they will be taking them off when when they eat or get ready to leave. Please write their name on tape and put the tape somewhere on the inside. This will help us get missing items back to the right person.
  • Please remember to wear appropriate undergarments, even if you don’t have a costume change. These clothes can be shorts and a t-shirt.
  • Please know that students can wear sandals, slip ons or their black choir shoes for the show but they must have a heel straps to make sure they don’t fall off. They must fit in with the costume, no neon colors or designs that don’t match. If you don’t know if the shoes will work, please bring them and ask. NO FLIP FLOPS.

Tickets

  • Ticket sales are very sluggish. Please remember that all ticket money is due on Monday 1/16/17 during rehearsal.
  • Tickets can be sold up until each show time but after Monday you will need to pay for the tickets as you pick them up.
  • Lets get three sold out shows =)

If you have any questions, please talk to Ruth, Kelly or Mr. Thompson =)

Thanks!
