Thank you for working with your practice CD’s to have Carol of the Children, Joyfully Sing, and Hark the Herald Angels Sing memorized by this coming Wednesday (November 18).  I put the wrong tracks on the CD for the Hark the Herald Angels Sing.

The first track is the accompaniment with the soprano part played on the piano.  There are no voices to go with it, unless YOU sing.
The second track is the accompaniment with the alto part played on the piano.  There are no voices to go with it, unless YOU sing.
The third track is just the accompaniment, so you can practice your part without any help.

Sorry there is no voice for that song.  If you can play piano, you may want to sit down and learn your part on your own.

Dear Families,

Hope you all enjoyed the weekend. There are some exciting things coming up. First, a reminder that this Wednesday we have choir from 12:00- 2:00pm. This will take the place of the Monday practice that was scheduled Thanksgiving week. Disneyland Deposits are also due Wednesday. Please hand those in to Ruth or Kelly.

We need to get our new students their black Honor Choir T-shirts. We use the same vendor that supplies Hickman their t-shirts. Please send your student’s name and sizing information to Ruth Barber, govnor2u@gmail.com. If there are students that already have a black t-shirt, but need a new one send your information to Ruth.

Also any new students needing their uniform checked out please let Ruth know. She will have uniforms on Wednesday and can get those checked out to you. We will be wearing these for our Winter Concert.

Hello Families,

I wanted to let you know that Mr. Thompson needed to change the date for our extra practice that was going to be held on Monday, November 23.  Instead of having an extra practice during Thanksgiving break, we will have it on Veterans Day.

New Practice Date:

Wednesday, November 11, 12pm-2pm

On a side note, we wanted to let you know that we did not get accepted into the State CMEA but we will be performing at the Regional CMEA like last year. As soon as we get more information, we will let you know.

Please remember Disneyland deposits are due November 11.

Dear Honor Choir Families,

We hope you are all well and enjoying being back to our Wednesday Honor Choir classes. The official Disneyland itinerary has been sent to us. Friday, March 4 is our performance and workshop date.

We will be getting tickets at a discounted price.

One day Hopper Pass: $134
Two day Hopper Pass: $171
Three day Hopper Pass: $205
Four Day Hopper Pass: $242
Five day Hopper Pass: $279

Our student’s one day pass will be covered by the choir funds. If you are staying beyond the students one day experience you will need to cover the difference for them. You may have additional family members or friends that will be attending, and families will need to cover those costs as well. A deposit of $20 per person (this does not include your student) will be due Nov. 11, with the remainder due Jan. 13. This gives you time as a family to make plans and decide what tickets you would like. Checks need to be made out to Hickman Charter School. Once we have everyone’s money Hickman writes one big check to Disneyland for all the tickets needed.

On a side note, we regret to inform you that Franco and Maria Gutierrez’ father passed away last week. Our hearts go out to their family. We will pass around a card for the children to sign on Wednesday to let the family know of our love and concern for them. If you wish to do more for the family and don’t know how to do so, please let Kelly or I know and we will help direct you.

I hope everyone has enjoyed the break from Honor Choir and are ready to start again. This week Mr. Thompson would like the students to please bring their SRO packet to practice on Wednesday.

For those Honor Choir families that would like to watch the high school student’s production of Wizard of Oz, you are welcome to attend the show on Thursday, October 8 @ 10:20.
