Sleeping Beauty Tickets

Hello Honor Choir Families!

The kids have been working very hard with Mr. Thompson to get ready for Sleeping Beauty and Into the Woods. It has been exciting watching them work with a positive and open mind with one another! Now it is time to add the next step to make this an exceptional show. What is that step you ask? TICKET SALES! This year Kara Boggs is heading up the box office and she kindly took the time to make up beautiful tickets for us to sell. Starting now you can find her at practices to pick up tickets.

To all our new families, I want to extend a warm welcome to you! We are so happy to see all of you and your kids in honor choir! I am sure you are wondering how does the ticket sales work.  Well, I can help you there =) We ask that every family sells as many tickets as they can. Please understand that each student needs to “pay” $40 BUT if you sale 8 tickets at $5 each, you have covered the $40 fee. For many of you that will be covered by family tickets. Where does all the tickets money go, you ask? All the money from the tickets goes right back into choir. It helps to pay for special Choreographers, cast parties, Disney trips, props, uniforms, and many other things that helps make this program so successful!

So here is how you can get tickets to sell:

  1. Order your tickets on the website and Kara Boggs will have them ready for you at rehearsals, remember you can send family and friends to the website: http://hickmanhonorchoir.org/ and they can reserve tickets to pick up at the door.
  2. Call or text Kara 988-5200 and she will have your tickets ready for you at the next rehearsal, or
  3. Talk to Kara at the rehearsals. She is there every rehearsal, just look for her purple box of tickets

Starting NOW, Kara will be at practice ready to hand out tickets.  Come back as many times as you need and get more tickets =) We have tickets to sell for Friday, September 22 @ 6pm, Friday, September 22 @ 7:30pm, and Saturday, September 23 @ 11:00pm. There are 300 tickets for each show! You do not have to pay for the tickets up front, but we do ask that you have all money and unsold tickets returned to Kara be Friday, September 15.  We will need to account for every ticket so please have them back to her on time.

This year lets make it our goal to have three sold out shows! It is great to look out into the audiences and see all the seats filled. It gives the kids a sense of accomplishment. They get excited and happy to see all their friends, family, coaches, neighbors, and teachers watching them.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email or call Kara (mommyboggs@gmail.com (209)988-5200).

Happy Selling!

Important: Sleeping Beauty

Hello Honor Choir families,
Rehearsals are plodding along and the kids are looking wonderful. We have a few important items to let you know about, and some information we need from you.
We need to know if your son has a pair of black slacks and a plain black short sleeve t-shirt. The goons, guards, and lords will need black pants for the show. The “Into the Woods” portion of the show will also require black pants. The black shirt will be used underneath their costumes so they can comfortably change costumes. We were thinking about letting the boys wear their tuxedo pants for the show but after today’s rehearsal it was decided it would be too risky. The goons are very active and we do not want to take chance on ruining anyone’s tuxedo pants. We usually need the boys in black pants and shirts for the musicals so we will most likely use these for the January show as well. Please shoot us back a response to this email if you have black slacks and shirt, or if you will have some. The second hand store is always a great option or ask friends if they have any pants that are looking for a new home. Thank you!
To prepare for this show we need to get blue attire out to our new families and exchange any outgrown attire for our oldies. Please review attire on the website or the papers handed out in May. This is helpful for appropriate shoes and socks. We also need to start preparing for our Winter Concert where we will wear our red attire.  We need to make sure all attire fits well and get dresses and tuxedo pants hemmed, if needed, and purchase any needed attire. Starting this process now will give us time to hem, exchange, and order. So…if you can come 20 to 30 minutes before your scheduled rehearsal, with your blue and red attire, we will be able to sift through everyone and make sure everyone is taken care of. We do not want to interrupt any classes so please wait in the lobby and we will get students from there. We will not be able to get everyone done in one day so please be patient, we will work as fast as we can. Thanks!
The Trees were forgotten on the rehearsal schedule.  Trees come tomorrow! Thursday August 24. You are in the forest scene. You are the forest. 🙂 If for some reason you can not make it tomorrow please come to the September 7 rehearsal.
Thank you all for your efforts and help!

CHANGES IN REHEARSAL SCHEDULE TAKE 2

Hello Honor Choir Families,

With the last changes in the schedule there was some confusion with the schedule. So today Mr. Thompson reviewed the schedule and made some more changes. Some of them are for clarifications but there are some new changes. The students have come so prepared to rehearsals Mr. Thompson has been able to cover a lot of ground. With that in mind Mr. Thompson shortened some of rehearsals and moved around scenes so he can focus on areas that need work.  Please look carefully at the schedule and note the changes. If you have any questions please let me know =)
