Hello Families,
Welcome back everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful summer filled with lots fun and family time! With the last few days of summer vacation before us it is time to start planning for the school year and the activities that go with it. The one activity that I can’t wait to get started is honor choir!!! I’m so excited to see the honor choir students embark on a wonderful journey through the Land of Oz!
With practices starting up before you know it, I wanted to get a couple of reminders out that will hopefully help everyone have a smooth start 🙂
1) Honor Choir’s first Wizard of Oz practice is Friday, August 14, 12:35-3:30. Please have all your lines and songs memorized! This is a full cast practice so everyone please plan on being there.
2) New students who have worked on book 1 and 1.5 over the summer, please come to our first practice early (12:15) so I can check your books. I will need to check to make sure books are completely done (not corrected) before you can start practice. If for some reason you were unable to finish the books over the summer please know that we understand and encourage you to keep working on them this coming year. It is important that students work at their own pace and understand the material and not feel they need to rush through the books. We want honor choir to be a positive experience with wonderful memories! If you need to take another year to finish the books please do! If you plan on not participating in honor choir this year please let us know so we can plan accordingly.
3) Please remember to bring a bottle of water to practices. With the hot days it’s important to stay hydrated.
4) Students need to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. They will need to keep their shoes on during practice so please wear shoes that won’t fall off during practice. Remember practices are fast paced and there is lots of physical movement 🙂
5) During practices we will be working on getting uniforms for new members and any members who need a different size. Please let us know if your child needs to change out their uniforms.
